Dr. King is my hero because he preached his final sermon about getting to the promised land. He said that he probably wouldn't get there with us but insisted that we as a people would get there.
He wanted the world to remember him for simply trying to love somebody and for living a chronologically short but profoundly committed life. When all is said and done what really matters for any human being is in what way did their life affect the world. Just being a decent person with good intent and some humility will have made a person's life successful through the eyes of God. Our free will connects us to our creator.
When we choose love and grace we become that and God is proud of his creation with the grandest potential to practice reverence where such a need exists. We know we are created in the image of our maker at this time.
When we choose what is malicious and unjust we curse ourselves for we can only run for a finite amount of time. We must at some point pay for or face accountability for our choices. This is inevitable. Karma cannot be escaped. Not even through death. Someone continues to pay.
Even the atheist must face the reality that their existence was indeed a reality and did not just spontaneously occur from the depths of eternity and infinity for no reason at all.
Atheism is a product of narcissism. This narcissistic ego is angered because God sees them as being no more or no less special than others. God will not make a special provision just to end their doubts.
And why should God do such a thing???
